Self-Tuning Guitar

I love watching movies from the 50's about how the year 2000 has flying cars and transporters. It seems we're no where close to those two things. We are, however, accomplishing some amazing achievements! The iPod, the Laptop, Sex Robots, and the Wii. I'm a fan of the future. The future is now! Fender has designed the Self-Tuning guitar! Not only does this "Robot Guitar" tune itself with the press of a button, but it also has 240 different custom tunings. Seems like this will make Nick Drake and Jimmy Page songs quite an easy task to play live. The self-tuning guitar mechanism is naturally enough controlled by a computer, which is mounted inside the guitar.

When my friend Dylan told me about the guitar, the first thing that came to my mind was...I wonder it's gonna look ugly! Well they have managed, from what I've seen, to produce the guitar in the Tele and Strat styles. Gibson is even selling a Les paul style. I'm not sure of the details on the Gibsons, though.



It's just as easy to use as you would hope, too! Just select the tuning you want and press the buttons. The Magical Fender Robot Guitar will do the rest. The control panel seems easy enough to use, too.



Fender claims that it's been around for about 15 years but it's so damn expensive and high tech only the most elite guitarist own them. They are planning a "lite" version of the guitar soon for us filthy peasants to own. I know I'll be getting one. The current list of Celebrity owners of the guitar include Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Robert Hunter (Grateful Dead), Kenny Loggins, Peter Buck (REM), Eddie VanHalen (VanHalen), Pete Townshend (The Who) and technology afficiando Paul Allen (Microsoft, LINK). Right now the guitar costs $3,000 in the US. I don't believe I'll be able to afford one for quite some time.
